Description

A decadent Turtle Caramel Cake featuring layers of rich chocolate, creamy caramel, and crunchy pecans, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/2 cup salted butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Combine the chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs in a large mixing bowl. Mix with an electric mixer until well combined.
  3. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  4. Let the cakes cool completely in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  5. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the heavy cream, caramel sauce, and sea salt, bringing it to a gentle boil. Remove from heat and add vanilla extract.
  6. Place one layer of cake on a serving plate, drizzle with caramel sauce, and sprinkle with chopped pecans.
  7. Add the second layer of cake on top and repeat the caramel and pecan topping.
  8. Finish with an additional drizzle of caramel and sprinkled pecans atop the final layer.
  9. Serve and savor each delicious forkful of your Turtle Caramel Cake!

Notes

Make-ahead tips: Bake the cake layers in advance, then assemble fresh. For variations, try different nuts or add chocolate ganache.
