- 1 package chocolate cake mix
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup strawberries, sliced
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your 9×13 inch pan.
- Combine the chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs in a large bowl and stir until well combined.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
- Spread the sliced strawberries over this layer of batter.
- Mix the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
- Spoon dollops of the cream cheese mixture over the strawberries.
- Carefully pour the remaining batter over the top.
- Sprinkle with chopped nuts if desired.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool before serving.
Notes
Store leftover cake in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 3-4 days. It can also be frozen for up to 2 months.
