Description

Ingredients

  • 1 package chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your 9×13 inch pan.
  2. Combine the chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs in a large bowl and stir until well combined.
  3. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
  4. Spread the sliced strawberries over this layer of batter.
  5. Mix the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  6. Spoon dollops of the cream cheese mixture over the strawberries.
  7. Carefully pour the remaining batter over the top.
  8. Sprinkle with chopped nuts if desired.
  9. Bake for 35–40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

Store leftover cake in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 3-4 days. It can also be frozen for up to 2 months.
