Description

A warm, comforting banana cobbler with a fluffy topping, perfect for family gatherings and special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 45 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (optional)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
  • Caramel drizzle or vanilla ice cream for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the banana mixture: toss sliced bananas with brown sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl. Pour into a greased baking dish and dot with butter.
  3. Make the cobbler batter: whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Pour the batter evenly over the banana mixture.
  5. Add nuts on top if desired.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden and set.
  7. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For added richness, serve with vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce. Ripe bananas make for the best flavor.
