- 1 large yellow onion (sliced)
- 6 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tbsp coarse salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Prepare the Seasoning Rub: In a small bowl, combine smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Rub the mixture evenly across all sides of the brisket.
- Layer the Aromatics: Place sliced onions and minced garlic at the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Position the Brisket: Place the seasoned brisket on top of the onions and garlic, fat side up.
- Whisk the Sauce: In a separate bowl, whisk together beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and Dijon mustard. Pour it around the brisket.
- Slow Cook to Perfection: Cover and cook on Low for 8 to 10 hours.
- Slice and Serve: Remove the brisket, let it rest for 15 minutes, then slice against the grain and return to the juices for 10 more minutes before serving.
