Description

Tender, succulent ribs cooked low and slow with a rich, smoky barbecue sauce.


Ingredients

  • 34 lbs baby back ribs or St. Louis-style ribs
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp paprika (smoked or sweet)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1.5 cups BBQ sauce
  • Fresh chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prep the ribs: Remove the membrane from the ribs and cut into smaller sections.
  2. Apply the rub: Mix together brown sugar and spices, and rub onto the ribs.
  3. Arrange and cook: Place rib sections in the slow cooker, brush BBQ sauce, cover, and cook on LOW for 7–8 hours or HIGH for 4 hours.
  4. Sauce and caramelize: Remove the ribs and apply remaining BBQ sauce, broil for 3–5 minutes until bubbling.
  5. Serve: Garnish with parsley and serve hot.

Notes

Make-ahead tips: Prep ribs the night before to enhance flavors. Customize with different spices or BBQ sauces.
