- 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
- 2 cups cooked ham, diced
- 2 cups shredded cheese (such as cheddar or Swiss)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish and layer half of the sliced potatoes across the bottom.
- Spread half of the diced ham over the potatoes, followed by half of the shredded cheese.
- Whisk together the heavy cream, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl.
- Pour half of the creamy mixture over the first layer in the baking dish.
- Repeat layering with the remaining potatoes, ham, cheese, and cream mixture.
- Dot the top with butter.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
Notes
For a crispy top, broil briefly at the end. Can be made ahead and stored in the fridge before baking.
