Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- Oil for frying
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 6 dried red chilies
- 4 green onions, sliced
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp sesame oil
Instructions
- Toss the beef with cornstarch in a mixing bowl until evenly coated.
- Heat the oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat and fry the beef strips until crispy and golden, about 2-3 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- Sauté the minced garlic, sliced onions, and dried chilies for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, water, black pepper, and sesame oil in the pan, stirring until the sauce thickens.
- Return the crispy beef to the pan and toss gently to coat with the sauce along with green onions, cooking for an additional minute.
- Serve hot over steamed rice, garnished with extra green onions and chilies.
Notes
Marinate the beef for extra flavor and use an air fryer for a healthier option.
