Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your cake pan by greasing and flouring it.
- Cream together the softened butter and sugar using a stand mixer or hand mixer until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, thoroughly mixing after each addition and then add vanilla extract.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk, mixing gently until combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
- Bake for 60 to 70 minutes, checking doneness with a toothpick.
- Prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake before serving.
Notes
Feel free to customize the cake with chocolate chips, nuts, or fresh berries. It can be made in advance for better flavor.
