A comforting and delicious homemade lasagna with layers of seasoned ground beef, creamy ricotta, and melted mozzarella.
Ingredients

- Lasagna noodles
- 1 lb Ground beef
- 1 Onion, chopped
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 28 oz Crushed tomatoes
- 1 tsp Fresh basil
- 1 tsp Fresh oregano
- 15 oz Ricotta cheese
- 1 Egg
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese, shredded
- 2 cups Mozzarella cheese, shredded
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Brown the beef: Heat skillet over medium heat, add ground beef, chopped onions, and minced garlic. Sauté until beef is golden brown and onions are translucent.
- Stir in tomatoes and herbs; simmer for about 30 minutes.
- Prepare the ricotta mixture: Combine ricotta cheese with the beaten egg and half of the parmesan in a mixing bowl.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Layer lasagna: Place noodles in baking dish, add a layer of meat sauce, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella. Repeat layers.
- Bake for 45 minutes until top is golden brown and cheese is bubbling.
- Cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Allow the lasagna to rest after baking for easier slicing. Lasagna can be assembled a day ahead and stored in the refrigerator.
