A quick and easy chocolate cake made in a microwave, perfect for satisfying sweet cravings.

- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 4 to 6 1 oz. squares semisweet baking chocolate
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 4 large egg yolks
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons strong black coffee or Kahlua (optional)
- 1 1/2 to 2 cups finely crushed Oreos
- 4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) butter, melted
- Whipped cream or dessert topping for serving
Instructions
- Combine the finely crushed Oreos with the melted butter in a small bowl and stir until damp.
- Press the mixture into the bottom of your microwave-safe mug to create a crust.
- Microwave the semisweet chocolate squares for 30 seconds until melted, then stir until smooth.
- Whisk together the heavy cream, milk, granulated sugar, powdered sugar, cornstarch, salt, egg yolks, and vanilla in another bowl.
- Pour the melted chocolate into the mixture gradually, stirring constantly.
- Add the optional coffee or Kahlua if desired.
- Pour the chocolate filling over your prepared crust in the mug.
- Microwave on high for 60-90 seconds, checking after 60 seconds for doneness.
- Top with whipped cream or dessert topping and serve warm.
Notes
Grease your mug to prevent sticking, and avoid overmixing the batter.
