- 2 lbs sirloin steak (cut into strips)
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- ⅔ cup hot water & 1 beef bouillon cube
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- 1 can (14.5 oz diced tomatoes)
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- Freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
- 2 bell peppers (sliced)
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sirloin strips and sauté until nicely browned on all sides. Set aside.
- Dissolve the beef bouillon cube in hot water in a small bowl. Whisk in the cornstarch until fully combined and smooth.
- Pour the bouillon mixture into the crockpot. Add the soy sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, diced tomatoes, and freshly ground black pepper. Stir gently to combine.
- Throw in the chopped onions and the seared beef into the crockpot. Stir to combine thoroughly.
- Cover the crockpot and set it to cook on high for 3 hours or low for 6–7 hours.
- Add the sliced bell peppers about an hour before serving, stirring them in.
- Ladle the finished pepper steak over rice, noodles, or mashed potatoes, and serve hot.
