Description

Tender, juicy ribs slow-simmered in a rich barbecue sauce, perfect for gatherings and family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Pork ribs (baby back or spare ribs)
  • 1 cup Barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup Brown sugar
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 1 tsp Smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • 1/4 cup Apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ribs by rinsing them under cold water and patting them dry with paper towels.
  2. Remove any membrane from the back of the ribs for optimal tenderness.
  3. Mix brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
  4. Rub the spice mixture generously over the ribs, coating every inch.
  5. Lay the ribs in the crockpot, fitting them upright or curled as needed.
  6. Pour the barbecue sauce over the ribs, ensuring even coating.
  7. Cover and cook on low for 360-480 minutes or on high for 240-300 minutes until tender.
  8. Transfer to a baking sheet and broil for 3-4 minutes for a caramelized finish, if desired.

Notes

Season the ribs a day in advance for deeper flavors. Adjust cooking methods if you don’t have a crockpot.
