Heavenly layers of cottage cheese, Swiss cheese, and sautéed mushrooms come together in this comforting dish that’s perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups cottage cheese
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh chives for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a medium-sized skillet over medium heat, then add the sliced mushrooms.
  3. Sauté until soft and tender, about 5-7 minutes, seasoning with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Combine the cottage cheese and half of the shredded Swiss cheese in a mixing bowl, blending well.
  5. Layer half of the cottage cheese mixture at the bottom of a baking dish.
  6. Add the sautéed mushrooms, distributing them evenly over the cottage cheese layer.
  7. Top with the remaining cottage cheese mixture, spreading it out evenly.
  8. Finish with a sprinkle of the remaining Swiss cheese on top.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Garnish with fresh chives before serving.
