Recreate the beloved Taco Bell Mexican Pizza with layers of seasoned beef, creamy refried beans, and plenty of cheese.

- 1 to 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 to 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 can (15-ounce) refried beans, warmed
- Salsa or taco sauce of choice
- 8 small flour tortillas
- 2 cups shredded Mexican cheese, divided
- 4 green onions, sliced
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Cook the ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic in a skillet over medium heat until browned.
- Stir in the taco seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
- Spread warmed refried beans evenly over each tortilla.
- Place the tortillas on a baking sheet, layering with seasoned beef, salsa, and cheese.
- Top each tortilla with another tortilla and repeat the process.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
- Remove from the oven, top with sliced green onions, and serve hot.
Notes
For a vegetarian option, substitute ground beef with mushrooms or lentils. Consider prepping the beef mixture in advance, and assemble just before baking for best results.
