  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons cream or milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Begin by combining the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  2. In a saucepan, gently heat the milk and butter until warm, then stir in the beaten egg.
  3. Gradually add the warm liquid mixture to your dry ingredients and mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  4. Knead for 5–7 minutes on a floured surface until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise for about 1 hour.
  6. Once risen, roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread a layer of melted butter over the surface.
  7. Sprinkle the cinnamon and brown sugar mixture evenly across the dough.
  8. Starting from one edge, roll the dough tightly into a log and slice it into even sections.
  9. Twist each piece gently and place them on a prepared baking sheet.
  10. Let them rise for an additional 30 minutes.
  11. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for about 15–20 minutes until golden.
  12. While baking, whisk together the powdered sugar, vanilla, and cream for the glaze.
  13. Once out of the oven, drizzle the glaze over the warm twists before serving.

Notes

For a different flavor, try adding raisins or nuts to the filling. You can also use an air fryer for a quicker cooking time.
