Instructions
- Begin by combining the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
- In a saucepan, gently heat the milk and butter until warm, then stir in the beaten egg.
- Gradually add the warm liquid mixture to your dry ingredients and mix until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead for 5–7 minutes on a floured surface until smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise for about 1 hour.
- Once risen, roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread a layer of melted butter over the surface.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon and brown sugar mixture evenly across the dough.
- Starting from one edge, roll the dough tightly into a log and slice it into even sections.
- Twist each piece gently and place them on a prepared baking sheet.
- Let them rise for an additional 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for about 15–20 minutes until golden.
- While baking, whisk together the powdered sugar, vanilla, and cream for the glaze.
- Once out of the oven, drizzle the glaze over the warm twists before serving.
Notes
For a different flavor, try adding raisins or nuts to the filling. You can also use an air fryer for a quicker cooking time.
