Description

Indulgent chocolate walnut brownie bars that are rich, chewy, and perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 3 eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup walnuts (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F) and line a square baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix melted butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Add eggs one by one, mixing thoroughly after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder in another bowl.
  5. Combine the dry mixture into the wet ingredients carefully to avoid overmixing.
  6. Fold in the walnuts and optional chocolate chips.
  7. Pour the batter into the lined baking pan and spread evenly.
  8. Bake for 25–30 minutes until the top is set and a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.

Notes

You can prepare the brownie batter a day in advance and store it in the refrigerator. Consider serving with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
