- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 3 eggs (room temperature)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup walnuts (chopped)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F) and line a square baking pan with parchment paper.
- Mix melted butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until smooth.
- Add eggs one by one, mixing thoroughly after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder in another bowl.
- Combine the dry mixture into the wet ingredients carefully to avoid overmixing.
- Fold in the walnuts and optional chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the lined baking pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until the top is set and a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
Notes
You can prepare the brownie batter a day in advance and store it in the refrigerator. Consider serving with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
