- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup warm coffee
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- Mix the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl until well combined.
- Whisk together eggs, buttermilk, warm coffee, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract in another bowl until smooth.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients by pouring the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and mixing gently.
- Divide the batter evenly between the two prepared cake pans and smooth the tops with a spatula.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool the cakes in the pans for about 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Frost the cake layers with your desired chocolate frosting once cooled.
