Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup softened salted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups (14 ounces) chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line three baking trays with parchment paper.
  2. Sift together the flour, baking soda, salt, and baking powder in a medium bowl, then whisk until combined.
  3. Cream the softened butter with white and brown sugars until fluffy and light in color.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing in the vanilla extract until well incorporated.
  5. Combine the dry ingredients into the butter mixture until just combined, then fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Shape the dough into 2- or 3-inch balls, placing them on the baking sheets with space between each.
  7. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until edges are golden brown and centers are soft but set.
  8. Cool the cookies on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
