Description

A delightful dish that blends savory baked chicken with creamy mozzarella, juicy tomatoes, and fresh basil, drizzled with balsamic glaze.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 2 medium tomatoes, sliced
  • ¼ cup fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic glaze
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease your baking dish with olive oil. Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels, drizzle with olive oil, and season with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Arrange the seasoned chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish. Bake for 20–22 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  3. Remove the baking dish from the oven, top each chicken breast with fresh mozzarella and tomato slices. Return to the oven for an additional 3–5 minutes until the cheese melts.
  4. Sprinkle with fresh basil leaves and drizzle with balsamic glaze before serving warm.

Notes

You can prep the chicken a day in advance and store it in the refrigerator until ready to bake. Feel free to substitute fresh mozzarella with other cheeses.
