Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the buttermilk, starting and ending with the flour.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. For the glaze, beat the cream cheese until smooth, then gradually add powdered sugar and milk until desired consistency is reached.
  10. Drizzle the cream cheese glaze over the cooled pound cake before serving.
