Description

A comforting baked tuna noodle casserole with layers of tender egg noodles, creamy mushroom sauce, and a crispy breadcrumb topping.


Ingredients

  • 8 ounces egg noodles
  • 2 cans (5 ounces each) tuna, drained
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the egg noodles in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente, then drain.
  3. Mix the cooked noodles, drained tuna, cream of mushroom soup, milk, frozen peas, and grated cheddar cheese in a large mixing bowl. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  5. Prepare the topping by mixing breadcrumbs with melted butter, then sprinkle this mixture over the casserole.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden and bubbly.

Notes

Feel free to customize by adding other vegetables or substituting tuna with chicken.
