Description

A delightful dessert of sweet mangoes paired with sticky rice and aromatic coconut sauce, creating a tropical treat that’s a feast for the senses.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup sticky rice
  • 1 can (13.5 ounces) coconut milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 ripe mangoes, peeled and sliced
  • Sesame seeds or mung beans for topping

Instructions

  1. Rinse the sticky rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for at least 4 hours or, for best results, overnight.
  2. Steam the rice for about 25-30 minutes or until fully cooked and tender.
  3. Create the coconut sauce by heating coconut milk, sugar, and salt in a saucepan until the sugar dissolves. Reserve about 1/4 cup for drizzling later.
  4. Combine the cooked sticky rice with the remaining coconut mixture. Stir gently and let it sit for about 15 minutes.
  5. Serve by placing sticky rice on a plate, topping it with fresh mango slices, drizzling with reserved coconut sauce, and finishing with sesame seeds or mung beans.

Notes

Make ahead and store in the fridge; reheat gently. Experiment with different toppings to personalize your dessert.
