Description
A delightful dessert of sweet mangoes paired with sticky rice and aromatic coconut sauce, creating a tropical treat that’s a feast for the senses.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup sticky rice
- 1 can (13.5 ounces) coconut milk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 ripe mangoes, peeled and sliced
- Sesame seeds or mung beans for topping
Instructions
- Rinse the sticky rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for at least 4 hours or, for best results, overnight.
- Steam the rice for about 25-30 minutes or until fully cooked and tender.
- Create the coconut sauce by heating coconut milk, sugar, and salt in a saucepan until the sugar dissolves. Reserve about 1/4 cup for drizzling later.
- Combine the cooked sticky rice with the remaining coconut mixture. Stir gently and let it sit for about 15 minutes.
- Serve by placing sticky rice on a plate, topping it with fresh mango slices, drizzling with reserved coconut sauce, and finishing with sesame seeds or mung beans.
Notes
Make ahead and store in the fridge; reheat gently. Experiment with different toppings to personalize your dessert.
