Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
- In a separate bowl, combine warm milk, melted butter, and egg; stir until well blended.
- Pour wet ingredients into dry mixture, stir until a cohesive dough forms, then knead for 5-10 minutes until smooth.
- Place kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel and let rise for about 1 hour, until doubled.
- Once risen, roll the dough onto a floured surface into a rectangle about 1/4-inch thick.
- Evenly distribute chopped strawberries and sprinkle with cinnamon over the rolled dough.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into equal portions, about 1 to 1.5 inches thick.
- Place rolls in a greased baking dish, cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons milk until smooth for the glaze.
- Remove rolls from the oven, let cool slightly, then drizzle with glaze.
Notes
Allow the dough to rise adequately for fluffy rolls. Can be made ahead and refrigerated overnight before baking.
