  • 1/4 cup cornmeal
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine corn, shrimp, flour, cornmeal, green onions, baking powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg and milk.
  3. Pour the egg mixture into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  4. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown on both sides.
  6. Remove fritters and drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve warm with remoulade sauce.
