A delicious twist on the classic grilled cheese sandwich featuring roasted garlic, sautéed mushrooms, and Swiss cheese.
Ingredients

- 4 slices of bread
- 1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, roasted
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
- In a pan, heat olive oil and sauté the sliced mushrooms until golden brown. Season with salt and pepper.
- Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
- On the unbuttered side, spread roasted garlic evenly.
- Add sautéed mushrooms and top with Swiss cheese.
- Top with another slice of bread, buttered side up.
- Grill the sandwich in the skillet until golden brown on both sides and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from heat, slice, and serve warm.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add fresh herbs like thyme or parsley.
- Use whole grain or sourdough bread for a different taste.
- Make sure the skillet is not too hot to avoid burning the bread.
