- 4 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup caramel candies
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the sugar and corn syrup, stirring until the mixture comes to a boil.
- Remove from heat and stir in the Rice Krispies until well coated.
- Press the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch pan.
- In another saucepan, melt the caramel candies with the heavy cream over low heat until smooth.
- Pour the caramel over the Rice Krispies layer and spread evenly.
- Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave or double boiler and pour over the caramel layer.
- Let the bars cool completely before cutting into squares.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate.
- Store in an airtight container to keep them fresh.
- These bars can be made ahead of time and stored for up to a week.
