- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
- In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, corn syrup, and butter. Cook over medium heat until melted and smooth.
- Pour the caramel mixture into a baking dish and sprinkle chopped pecans on top.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread with butter, and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll the dough tightly and cut into slices. Place the slices in the baking dish over the pecans.
- Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your sticky buns!
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon to the dough.
- These buns can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator overnight before baking.
