  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  5. In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, corn syrup, and butter. Cook over medium heat until melted and smooth.
  6. Pour the caramel mixture into a baking dish and sprinkle chopped pecans on top.
  7. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread with butter, and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
  8. Roll the dough tightly and cut into slices. Place the slices in the baking dish over the pecans.
  9. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  10. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
