Description
A delightful fusion of flavors featuring juicy chicken, crispy bacon, and melted cheese, all drizzled with a sweet and tangy honey mustard sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 chicken breast portions (skinless)
- 6 slices bacon
- 1/2 tablespoon chicken seasoning
- 1/2 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika powder
- 2 cups Colby/Jack cheese (shredded)
- 2 cups button mushrooms (sliced)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/3 cup yellow grainy mustard
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon corn syrup (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon onion flakes
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) so it’s ready for your culinary masterpiece.
- Cook the bacon in a medium skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 6-8 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
- Marinate the chicken by mixing chicken seasoning, onion powder, and paprika in a large bowl, then rub onto the chicken breasts and let marinate for at least 45 minutes.
- Make the honey mustard sauce by combining honey, mustard, onion flakes, and mayonnaise in a non-stick pan over low heat until smooth and simmer lightly.
- Brown the marinated chicken in the skillet with remaining bacon fat over medium heat for 2-3 minutes on each side.
- Prepare a baking dish lined with aluminum foil, placing the browned chicken inside, and generously coat with honey mustard sauce, then top with mushrooms, bacon, and cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until the cheese is bubbling and golden.
- Serve hot, paired with sides like slaw or sweet potato fries for a complete meal.
Notes
Marinate chicken overnight for enhanced flavor. Can also cook in an air fryer at 375°F (190°C) for about 12-15 minutes.
