Description

A delightful dessert featuring creamy custard between flaky pastry, topped with a tangy passionfruit glaze.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups cream
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup passionfruit pulp
  • 1/2 cup icing sugar
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and line your baking dish.
  3. Bake for about 15-20 minutes or until golden and cool.
  4. Combine milk, cream, and sugar in a saucepan, heating until the sugar dissolves.
  5. Mix cornstarch and egg yolks in a bowl, then temper with warm milk mixture.
  6. Slowly add the rest of the milk mixture to the cornstarch mixture, whisking constantly.
  7. Cook over low heat until thickened, about 5-10 minutes.
  8. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  9. Pour custard over the baked pastry and let it cool, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  10. Mix passionfruit pulp with icing sugar and spread over cooled custard.
  11. Chill again before serving.
