Deliciously spooky cupcakes perfect for Halloween celebrations.

- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup milk
- Green and purple food coloring
- 1 batch of buttercream frosting
- Edible eyes and Halloween-themed sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the softened butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
- Divide the batter into two bowls and add green food coloring to one and purple to the other.
- Using a spoon, drop alternating spoonfuls of the green and purple batter into each cupcake liner.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cupcakes cool completely before frosting.
- Frost with buttercream and decorate with edible eyes and sprinkles.
Notes
- For a more intense color, add more food coloring as desired.
- Store cupcakes in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- Feel free to use any color combinations for a fun twist!
