Description

A comforting and moist banana bread made with overripe bananas, melted butter, and optional mix-ins like walnuts or chocolate chips.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare your loaf pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  3. Mash the bananas in a mixing bowl until smooth.
  4. Combine the melted butter, beaten egg, and vanilla extract with the mashed bananas.
  5. Mix in the sugar until dissolved.
  6. Add the dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, salt) to the wet mixture, folding gently.
  7. Fold in walnuts or chocolate chips.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  9. Bake for about 60 minutes, checking for doneness at the 50-minute mark.
  10. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store wrapped tightly in aluminum foil or an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the refrigerator for up to a week. Freezing is recommended for longer storage.
