- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- A pinch of salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare your loaf pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
- Mash the bananas in a mixing bowl until smooth.
- Combine the melted butter, beaten egg, and vanilla extract with the mashed bananas.
- Mix in the sugar until dissolved.
- Add the dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, salt) to the wet mixture, folding gently.
- Fold in walnuts or chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for about 60 minutes, checking for doneness at the 50-minute mark.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Store wrapped tightly in aluminum foil or an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the refrigerator for up to a week. Freezing is recommended for longer storage.
