- 1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 2 tbsp olive oil, divided
- ½ lb hot Italian sausage, casings removed, cooked and crumbled
- 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup crumbled feta cheese
- ¼ cup hot honey
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Fresh parsley or basil, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 475°F. If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to preheat.
- Roll out your pizza dough on a lightly floured surface to your preferred thickness.
- Cook the hot Italian sausage in a skillet over medium heat for 7-10 minutes until browned.
- Transfer the rolled dough onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet and brush with olive oil.
- Add shredded mozzarella, crumbled sausage, and feta cheese on top of the dough.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden brown and cheese is bubbly.
- Drizzle hot honey generously over the pizza and add red pepper flakes if desired.
- Garnish with chopped parsley or basil and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
Notes
For a milder flavor, substitute hot sausage with sweet Italian sausage. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
