- 1 teaspoon instant yeast
- 1 ½ cups warm water
Instructions
- Whisk together the all-purpose flour, salt, and instant yeast in a large bowl.
- Add the warm water gradually, stirring until a sticky dough forms.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a towel and let it rest for 12 to 18 hours.
- Check for bubbling on the surface indicating readiness, then turn the dough out onto a floured surface.
- Shape the dough into a ball using floured hands and let it rise uncovered for 1 hour.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) with a Dutch oven inside.
- Transfer the dough into the hot Dutch oven carefully.
- Cover and bake for 30 minutes, then remove the lid and bake for another 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
Notes
For added flavor, you can experiment with herbs or cheese in the dough. Store bread tightly wrapped in the fridge for up to a week or freeze for up to three months.
