- 1 lb ground lamb
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 cup grated onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1 egg, beaten
- 4 pita breads
- 1 cup tzatziki sauce
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground lamb, breadcrumbs, parsley, onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, salt, pepper, cinnamon, and beaten egg.
- Mix until well combined and form into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
- Place meatballs on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through.
- Warm the pita breads in the oven for a few minutes.
- Assemble the pitas by placing meatballs inside, then topping with tzatziki sauce, diced tomatoes, and shredded lettuce.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the lamb in spices for a few hours before cooking.
- Feel free to add other toppings like feta cheese or olives.
- These meatballs can also be grilled for a smoky flavor.
