- 2 slices of bread
- 1 cup fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
- 1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
- Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
- On the unbuttered side, layer the mozzarella cheese and sprinkle with fresh herbs, salt, and pepper.
- Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side up.
- Cook in the skillet for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from heat, slice, and serve warm.
Notes
- Feel free to add other herbs like thyme or oregano for extra flavor.
- For a crispy texture, use a panini press if available.
- Pair with a side of tomato soup for a classic combination.
