Description

A deliciously indulgent grilled cheese sandwich featuring the sweet and savory combination of figs and prosciutto.


Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread
  • 2 slices of cheese (preferably Gruyère or Brie)
  • 2 slices of prosciutto
  • 2 tablespoons of fig jam
  • 1 tablespoon of butter

Instructions

  1. Spread fig jam on one side of each slice of bread.
  2. Layer cheese and prosciutto on top of the fig jam on one slice.
  3. Top with the second slice of bread, fig jam side down.
  4. Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
  6. Flip the sandwich and cook the other side until golden and the cheese is melted.
  7. Remove from skillet, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add fresh arugula or spinach inside the sandwich.
  • Use a panini press for a crispier texture.
