- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1/2 cup active sourdough starter
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
Instructions
- Mix flour and water in a large mixing bowl, stirring until no dry flour remains. Let it rest for about 30 minutes.
- Incorporate the active sourdough starter and salt, mixing until well combined.
- Let the dough rise at room temperature for 8-12 hours, until it doubles in size.
- Shape the dough on a floured surface, gently stretching and folding it into a round loaf.
- Place the loaf on floured parchment paper, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise for another 1-2 hours.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and place a Dutch oven inside to heat up.
- Bake covered for 30 minutes in the preheated Dutch oven.
- Uncover and continue to bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool on a wire rack for at least an hour before slicing.
