Description

Easy Taco Cups are a delightful fusion of crispy taco shells filled with juicy seasoned meat, fresh vegetables, and melted cheese. Each bite offers a satisfying crunch followed by a burst of savory flavors, making them an irresistible snack or appetizer for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Taco Cups:
    • 12 small flour tortillas
    • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • For the Filling:
    • 1 pound ground beef
    • 1 packet taco seasoning
    • 1/2 cup water
    • 1 cup diced tomatoes
    • 1 cup shredded lettuce
    • 1/2 cup sour cream
    • 1/4 cup sliced jalapeños (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the taco seasoning and water to the beef, stirring well. Simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
  4. While the beef cooks, lightly grease a muffin tin and press each tortilla into the cups to form a shell.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheese at the bottom of each tortilla cup.
  6. Fill each cup with the seasoned beef mixture, then top with more cheese.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the tortillas are crispy and the cheese is melted.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before adding toppings like diced tomatoes, lettuce, sour cream, and jalapeños.

Notes

  • Make-ahead: You can prepare the beef filling a day in advance and store it in the refrigerator.
  • Storage: Store leftover taco cups in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Substitutions: Use ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option, or swap out the cheese for a dairy-free alternative.
