- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup water
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- Filling:
- 1 cup strawberry gelatin
- 2 cups boiling water
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, diced
- Topping:
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Additional strawberries for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes until well blended.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- While the cake is baking, dissolve the strawberry gelatin in 2 cups of boiling water, stirring until fully dissolved.
- Once the cake is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes. Use a fork to poke holes all over the top of the cake.
- Pour the prepared gelatin mixture over the cake, ensuring it seeps into the holes. Allow the cake to cool completely.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
- Spread the whipped cream topping over the cooled cake and garnish with additional strawberries. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
