- 3 ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
- Add the melted butter to the mashed bananas and mix well.
- Stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the baking soda, salt, flour, and cocoa powder.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For extra chocolate flavor, you can add more chocolate chips on top before baking.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- This bread can be frozen for up to 3 months; just wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and foil.
