Ingredients
- Bread: 6 cups of day-old brioche or challah, cubed
- Custard: 4 large eggs, beaten
1 cup whole milk
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt - Optional Add-ins: 1/2 cup raisins or chocolate chips
Instructions
- Grease the inside of the crockpot with butter or cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
- Add the cubed bread to the custard mixture, gently folding until all pieces are soaked.
- If using, fold in the raisins or chocolate chips.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared crockpot, spreading it evenly.
- Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours, or until the custard is set and the top is golden brown.
- Check for doneness by inserting a knife into the center; it should come out clean.
- Let it cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.

- This bread pudding can be made a day in advance; simply refrigerate the mixture overnight and cook the next day.
