Ingredients

  • Bread: 6 cups of day-old brioche or challah, cubed
  • Custard: 4 large eggs, beaten
    1 cup whole milk
    1 cup heavy cream
    1 cup granulated sugar
    2 teaspoons vanilla extract
    1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Optional Add-ins: 1/2 cup raisins or chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Grease the inside of the crockpot with butter or cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  3. Add the cubed bread to the custard mixture, gently folding until all pieces are soaked.
  4. If using, fold in the raisins or chocolate chips.
  5. Pour the mixture into the prepared crockpot, spreading it evenly.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours, or until the custard is set and the top is golden brown.
  7. Check for doneness by inserting a knife into the center; it should come out clean.
  8. Let it cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
