Ingredients

  • 2 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 cup red lentils, rinsed
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Boil the sweet potatoes until tender, about 15 minutes.
  2. In a separate pot, cook the red lentils in water until soft, about 10-15 minutes.
  3. Drain the lentils and mash them together with the sweet potatoes.
  4. Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper to the mixture.
  5. Form the mixture into patties and coat them with breadcrumbs.
  6. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  7. Fry the patties until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  8. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
