Description

Deliciously crispy fried chicken with a tender and juicy interior, perfect for family gatherings or special occasions.


Ingredients

  • 1 kg Chicken (any part)
  • 2 cups Buttermilk
  • 1.5 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1.5 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp Red Chili Powder
  • 1/2 tsp White Pepper
  • 2 cups All-purpose Flour
  • 1/2 cup Cornflour
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • Cold Water (as needed)
  • Oil (for deep frying)

Instructions

  1. Prep the chicken: Thoroughly wash and pat dry.
  2. Marinate the chicken in buttermilk, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, red chili powder, and white pepper; refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  3. Make the flour mixture by whisking together flour, cornflour, and baking powder.
  4. Coat the chicken in the flour mixture, then spritz with cold water and toss again in the flour mixture.
  5. Heat oil in a fryer or pot to 170°C–175°C.
  6. Fry the chicken for 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Rest the chicken on a cooling rack for 2 to 3 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a healthier option, try baking or air frying the chicken. Experiment with spices to enhance flavor.
