Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup uncooked long-grain rice
  • 2 cups water
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season & Sear the Chicken: Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet and cook chicken for 5-7 minutes per side until golden. Remove and let rest.
  2. Sauté the Aromatics: In the same skillet, sauté chopped onion until translucent, then add minced garlic for 1 minute.
  3. Activate the Spices: Stir in smoked and sweet paprika and cook for another minute.
  4. Pour in Chicken Broth: Gradually add chicken broth while deglazing the pan. Simmer gently.
  5. Create the Creamy Sauce: Reduce heat and add heavy cream, stirring until smooth and thickened.
  6. Cook the Rice: In a separate pot, combine rice, water, and a pinch of salt. Bring to boil, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
  7. Combine Chicken and Sauce: Return chicken to the sauce, coating it well and heating through for 2-3 minutes.
  8. Fluff and Serve: Fluff rice, serve topped with creamy paprika chicken and garnish with parsley.

Notes

You can substitute heavy cream with Greek yogurt for a lighter option. Keep leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
