- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup uncooked long-grain rice
- 2 cups water
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Season & Sear the Chicken: Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet and cook chicken for 5-7 minutes per side until golden. Remove and let rest.
- Sauté the Aromatics: In the same skillet, sauté chopped onion until translucent, then add minced garlic for 1 minute.
- Activate the Spices: Stir in smoked and sweet paprika and cook for another minute.
- Pour in Chicken Broth: Gradually add chicken broth while deglazing the pan. Simmer gently.
- Create the Creamy Sauce: Reduce heat and add heavy cream, stirring until smooth and thickened.
- Cook the Rice: In a separate pot, combine rice, water, and a pinch of salt. Bring to boil, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
- Combine Chicken and Sauce: Return chicken to the sauce, coating it well and heating through for 2-3 minutes.
- Fluff and Serve: Fluff rice, serve topped with creamy paprika chicken and garnish with parsley.
Notes
You can substitute heavy cream with Greek yogurt for a lighter option. Keep leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
