Description

A delicious copycat version of the classic Arby’s Beef Cheddar sandwich, featuring tender roast beef and a creamy cheddar sauce.


Ingredients

  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 6 ounces shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups low sodium beef broth
  • 1 pound thinly sliced deli roast beef
  • 4 onion hamburger buns

Instructions

  1. In a small mixing bowl, combine ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder. Whisk together until well blended and set aside.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute to create a roux.
  3. Gradually add milk while whisking. Bring to a gentle simmer, stirring regularly for about 5 minutes until thickened. Remove from heat and mix in cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
  4. In a large skillet, heat beef broth over medium heat. Add slices of roast beef to the broth individually, warming each piece for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Assemble the sandwich by spreading Arby’s sauce on the bottom bun, adding warm roast beef, followed by cheese sauce, and topping with the other half of the bun. Serve warm.
