Description

Experience the joy of homemade bread with this classic artisan sourdough, enriched with olive oil and honey for a perfect balance of flavors.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g Bread Flour
  • 350ml Water
  • 100g Sourdough Starter
  • 10g Salt
  • 30ml Olive Oil
  • 20g Honey

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the bread flour and water until no dry flour remains. Let it rest for 30 minutes.
  2. Add the sourdough starter, salt, olive oil, and honey to the dough. Stir until well incorporated.
  3. Knead the dough by hand on a lightly floured surface for about 10 minutes.
  4. Transfer the dough to a lightly greased bowl. Cover and let it rise for 4-6 hours at room temperature.
  5. Once risen, turn the dough onto a floured surface. Shape it into a round loaf and place it in a floured banneton.
  6. Cover the dough and let it proof for 1-2 hours.
  7. Preheat your oven to 230°C (450°F) for at least 30 minutes.
  8. Carefully transfer the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Score the top.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  10. Let it cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

For a richer flavor, prepare the dough the night before and refrigerate it for slower fermentation.
