- 1 loaf of cinnamon swirl bread, cubed
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup maple syrup (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt.
- Add the cubed cinnamon swirl bread to the egg mixture and gently fold until the bread is well coated.
- Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is set.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Drizzle with maple syrup if desired.
Notes
- For added flavor, you can sprinkle some chopped nuts or raisins on top before baking.
- This casserole can be prepared the night before and stored in the refrigerator. Just bake it in the morning.
