Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your cupcake tray with festive liners.
  2. Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Combine sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract in another bowl and mix until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mix, stirring until just combined.
  5. Fill each cupcake liner about two-thirds full with batter.
  6. Bake for 18–22 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool on a rack completely before frosting.
  8. Beat softened butter until creamy, then gradually add cocoa powder and powdered sugar.
  9. Pour in milk, mixing until desired consistency is reached.
  10. Mix in vanilla extract and a pinch of salt until fluffy.
