- 500g all-purpose flour
- 75g sugar
- 10g salt
- 10g instant yeast
- 250ml milk
- 3 large eggs
- 100g unsalted butter, softened
- 200g chocolate chips
- 500ml vanilla custard
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
- In a separate bowl, warm the milk and whisk in the eggs.
- Pour the milk mixture into the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth.
- Add the softened butter and continue kneading until fully incorporated.
- Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and divide it into equal portions.
- Flatten each portion, add a spoonful of vanilla custard and some chocolate chips, then shape into a ball.
- Place the balls on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate chips.
- Ensure the custard is chilled before adding it to the dough.
- These brioches can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
