- 1 cup brewed espresso, cooled
- 1/2 cup amaretto liqueur
- 2 cups mascarpone cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 24 ladyfinger cookies
- 1 cup fresh cherries, pitted and halved
- Cocoa powder for dusting
Instructions
- In a shallow dish, combine the brewed espresso and amaretto.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Dip each ladyfinger into the espresso mixture for a few seconds, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.
- Layer half of the soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a serving dish.
- Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
- Add half of the cherries on top of the mascarpone layer.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining ladyfingers, mascarpone mixture, and cherries.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.
- Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder.
Notes
- For a non-alcoholic version, substitute amaretto with almond extract and additional milk.
- Feel free to use frozen cherries if fresh ones are not available.
- Letting the tiramisu sit overnight enhances the flavors.
